Lincoln, Nebraska doesn’t lack in variety for your engagement photos, whether you’re looking for a simple, modern feel or photos where you’re surrounded by nature.
Lincoln, Nebraska is full of beautiful backdrops that are ideal for engagement photos. You can choose between the more modern city vibe downtown, the romantic Sunken Gardens with all of it’s stunning florals, or all of the expansive natural beauty at Pioneers Park. I love that Lincoln has so many different locations to choose from, so you’re sure to find the one that fits what you have envisioned for your photos.

Here are my favorite locations around Lincoln that make a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos!
Downtown is full of character with a mix of the brick buildings and ones with a more modern vibe. It’s a perfect location if you want more of a city vibe, and you’re sure to find plenty of spots to capture photos while walking around with your person!
Hazel Abel Park is a laid-back and sweet little park that has brick paths, greenery, and a romantic atmosphere. It’s quieter than the big parks, so it can make your session feel more intimate.
With 668 acres of prairie, woodland, wetlands, and a flowing stream, Pioneers Park gives you tons of variety in one place. It’s an ideal option for photos filled with natural beauty.
This one’s super pretty if you’re wanting some waterfront photos. There are walking trails that are fun to explore and capture photos along the way!
Sunken Gardens is a really colorful, flower-filled spot that feels like a little oasis right in the city. The fountains, stone pathways, and all of the vibrant plantlife make it such a dreamy spot for engagement photos!

The time of year you choose for your session can really determine the overall vibe of your photos. Here’s what each season looks like here in Lincoln!
Fall is hands down one of the prettiest times in Lincoln for photos, with the leaves changing all over the city. The bright oranges, reds, and yellows really give your photos a cozy, romantic feel.
Winter may be chilly, but it does have its own kind of magic. It has that winter wonderland feel, which can be really beautiful in photos! But it does mean it can be extremely chilly. So opt for early or late winter for a bit warmer temps!
Spring in Lincoln is really beautiful and full of fresh florals, which means a location like Sunken Gardens really comes alive after the chilly winter. The weather can be a little unpredictable with rain, but the soft greens and flowers make it worth it.
Summer means warmer days and some really beautiful lighting, especially at sunset. It can get pretty hot and humid during the day, so an early morning session or evening is definitely recommended!
