Alexis and Shane, a fun and down-to-earth couple, are tying the knot this March in Phoenix, AZ. Alexis’s vibrant personality matches perfectly with her love for the color green – she even drives a green Jeep Wrangler! The couple’s shared love of hiking and being in the moment made Cave Creek the perfect location for their engagement session.
Cave Creek offers a stunning backdrop for photos, blending rugged desert beauty with peaceful trails. From golden sunsets over the desert landscape to intimate moments surrounded by towering cacti, Cave Creek creates the most stunning setting for engagement photos here in Arizona.

If you want to explore beyond Cave Creek, Arizona offers a wide range of breathtaking locations for engagement photos, each with its own charm and character. Whether you’re looking for dramatic red rock landscapes, serene water settings, or urban-meets-desert vibes, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a closer look at some of my favorite spots!
Papago Park is an iconic location known for its striking red rock formations and desert botanical gardens. The unique rock formations, such as Hole-in-the-Rock, provide a natural frame for stunning portraits. The surrounding desert plants add a quintessential Arizona feel to your photos.
Saguaro Lake combines water and desert landscapes, creating a tranquil yet dramatic setting. The lake’s serene blue waters contrast beautifully with the rugged canyon walls and towering saguaro cacti.
Sedona gives a romantic vibe, thanks to its striking red rock formations and vibrant sunsets. The towering sandstone cliffs create a sense of grandeur, while the trails and hidden alcoves offer more intimate settings.
Located at the base of the Superstition Mountains, Lost Dutchman State Park is perfect for couples who want a raw, rugged desert setting. The towering mountains and endless desert landscape provide a dramatic backdrop that’s uniquely Arizona.
South Mountain Park is one of the largest urban parks in the U.S., offering a unique combination of desert beauty and city views. With over 50 miles of trails, the park provides endless opportunities for diverse photo backdrops.
These locations not only offer incredible scenery but also provide the flexibility to tailor your engagement session to your story and personality. When choosing your location, think about your connection to the area and the vibe you want to capture. Scouting your location beforehand can help you visualize your shots and find hidden gems within each area. From serene lakes to rugged mountains, Arizona truly has it all!

Arizona’s seasons each bring something unique to your engagement session, and it all depends on the vibe you’re looking for!
Ideal temperatures (60°F–80°F) and blooming wildflowers make this season a favorite. The vibrant colors and mild weather are perfect for outdoor sessions, but be prepared for more crowds in popular spots.
The desert heat is intense (up to 110°F), so early mornings are a must, because late evenings can still be extremely hot. But, if you can avoid the summer months that is recommended, or choose a location at a higher elevation for slightly cooler temps.
Cooler temperatures and fewer crowds make this a gorgeous time for photos. Some areas, like Sedona, even feature subtle fall foliage to add those vibrant autumn colors to your backdrop.
Crisp, clear days and soft natural light make winter ideal for capturing vibrant, clean photos. Snow in higher elevations like Flagstaff can provide a magical winter wonderland vibe.
